Inauguration from the A. -L. Breguet – How watchmaking conquered the planet exhibition
At 11 am on June 9th 2011, Marc A. Hayek, President of Montres Breguet SA as well as Nicole Minder, Director of the Switzerland National Museum – Chateau de Prangins, inaugurated the exhibition entitled “A. -L. Breguet. How watchmaking conquered the world” by holding some sort of press conference.
Several dozen journalists from worldwide congregated in the courtyard from the Swiss National Museum – Chateau de Prangins, on the shores involving Lake Leman, to discover a retrospective on the work of A. -L. Breguet (1747-1823), presented for the first time in Switzerland, the native land on this renowned watchmaker.
Among other items on display, they were able to help admire several notebooks comprising manuscripts of Breguet’s “watchmaking treatise project” purchased by Nicolas G. Hayek in a Might 2010 auction in Geneva, along with the travel clock acquired by Napoleon, and the Marie -Antoinette watch completed in 2008 through the Breguet watchmakers. More than 175 collectibles watches are displayed. This exceptional exhibition also includes many portraits, invention patents and other historical documents.
The day continued through an official inauguration that also welcomed people that had kindly loaned many of the pieces on show, as well as adult ed curators and clients on the brand.
